Bullshit Express (Federal Spending Edition)

The Wide Stance presidential nominee, John McCain, fancies himself a straight talker and a "fiscal conservative." As Think Progress notes, McCain has pledged never to raise taxes and to balance the federal budget, and has laid out a long list of additional tax cuts, the biggest three of which would reduce federal revenues by $380 billion in their first year.

The 2008 budget as issued by another self-styled "fiscal conservative," George W. Bush, shows a deficit of $410 billion.

$380 billion + $410 billion = $790 billion.

Until and unless McCain spells out the $790 billion in federal spending reductions for fiscal year 2009, he is talking utter bullshit.
