Checking on Conservapedia

If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, I must be insane to perform another check on the top 10 most viewed pages at conservapedia, the web's leading reference for self-hating homosexuals:

1. Homosexuality‎ [2,341,006]
2. Main Page‎ [2,294,165]
3. Teen Homosexuality‎ [409,823]
4. Arguments Against Homosexuality‎ [329,891]
5. Homosexual Agenda‎ [326,812]
6. Ex-homosexuals‎ [314,798]
7. Homosexuality and Choice‎ [309,987]
8. Wikipedia‎ [309,279]
9. Homosexuality and Anal Cancer‎ [297,651]
10. Homosexuality and Health‎ [291,178]

Homosexuality has vaulted into even greater prominence compared with the last time I checked, when it could only lay claim to four of the top five spots, leaving fully six entries to non-gay, or indirectly-gay, subjects. By now the gay obsession has stormed back in the right-wing online reference-seeking mind, and has seized eight of the top ten.

The main page, the site's second-most-popular, evinces some embarrassment at these numbers judging from its own listing of popular articles:

Theory of Evolution
Examples of Bias in Wikipedia
Jesus Christ
Global Warming
George W. Bush
Barack Obama
Liberal Bias
Big Bang Theory
Conservative Links
It's easy to spot the one point of overlap between the two lists -- the pages actually viewed versus the pages that conservapedia's minders would like readers to view -- but in case you missed it, it starts with an H and has nothing to do with Senator Larry Craig, Pastor Ted Haggard, anyone standing in the background of the image at the top of this post, or the tormented innermost longings of conservapedia's readers.

Come to think of it, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result is a passable definition of traditionalism, if not conservatism itself. Hmm.

They're getting desperate. Or maybe just hornier.

On another matter, I've been trying to find an e-mail link somewhere on this here blog and I can't. So, could you e-mail me? ( Thanks.

Bloody hell. Did you read the "conservapedia" article on homosexuality? It's the most illogical piece of deranged crankery you can imagine.

Jeremy, no. I have not had a settled-enough stomach to visit the page itself. I have no doubt it's non-stop bullshit, idiocy, and bigotry.
