Five-Year Anniversary of "Mission Accomplished"

It should be recalled that George W. Bush didn't issue just any old boilerplate, miscellaneous sentences beneath a "Mission Accomplished" banner on this day five years ago, but got pretty specific:

Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.
Five full years have passed since "Mission Accomplished" in the "Battle of Iraq." 3,924 of the 4,058 US soldiers who have died in Iraq have died since "Mission Accomplished." They died, apparently, in the course of combat operations that George W. Bush considers something short of "major."
