The Gas-Bag Bigot Pastor Who [Hearts] McCain

Bloated Pastor John Hagee brings some nasty theology featuring exquisitely specific hatreds to his political support of John McSame, and to date, John McSame is happy to receive the support as he struggles to appease the frothing right-wing fringe.

According to Hagee:

  • The Catholic Church is "The Great Whore"
  • God sent Hurricane Katrina because gay people were cavorting, or threatening to cavort, in New Orleans
Charming!

The irony of it all is that, personally, the people driving me away from Christian churches are actually the Christians in them.

Each pastor that speaks as Hagee does, each flock member who votes in favor of cruelty to gays or who agitates against abortion while electing republicans who ensure that poor people stay poor and get no support or education on controlling family sizes (and whose kids consequently think that, as in Florida, drinking bleach or Mountain Dew will prevent pregnancy) disillusion me further and further.

Regardless of what Rev White said, anyone who harps on what he said and his personality as they would like to think it relates to Obama who also does not similarly and sincerely take John McCain to task for accepting support from such pastors in the megachurch that damn Catholics and Katrina survivors pretty much fit the dictionary definition of hypocrisy as I understand it.

You can't eat your cake and still have it. One can't how about the splinter in Obama's eye and ignore the plank in McCain's and expect me to take that one's opinion serioulsly, yes?

I have often wondered if these screamers have ever taken time to consider, in an objective way, whether they drive more people away or pull more people in. I find them endlessly repulsive.

But oh, I nearly forgot ... they don't do "consider, in an objective way."

Never mind.

Dale, one can only speculate as to what unspeakably sinful "cavorting" Myanmar has been engaging in to bring this cyclone, which has killed more than 22,000 people, upon itself.

I've always felt that Barnum's estimate of sucker production per minute was rather conservative.

Now, that's a life lesson for you
