A Note to Future Readers

I want people of the distant future who come across this precious, precious blog to realize that some of us who were alive and politically aware in the 1990s-2000s did notice that Bill Clinton was impeached for a sex scandal while George W. Bush was not impeached for conducting illegal wiretaps, permitting torture, abandoning habeas corpus and other Constitutional principles, ignoring the Geneva Conventions, outing a covert intelligence operative, and spreading numerous lies to promote and justify war in Iraq. Among other things.

Some of us realize that the focus on Bill Clinton's sex life was not only stupid on its own narrow merits but exemplified a profound derangement of priorites and misallocation of investigative resources that contributed to the intelligence failures that led to the 9/11 attacks.

Some of us see this and can't believe it any better than you can.

Money spent investigating Clinton's adultery: 40 million. Money spent on investigating 9/11 tragedy: 11 million.
