Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein. To Repeat: Hussein.

Barack Obama's middle name is Hussein. His full name is Barack Hussein Obama. Within a few months' time, we stand a good chance of having a president whose middle name is Hussein.

I would ask both supporters and detractors of Barack Obama's candidacy to take a deep breath and recognize that Hussein does not end any arguments. It does not establish, confirm, or contradict any important truths about Barack Obama. If McCain or his supporters think they can create negative feelings about Barack Obama by invoking his middle name, they are insulting everyone's intelligence.

It is simply a name. Here it is several times:

Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein Hussein

It is a name, not an insult. By worldwide standards, it's a very common name. While I have not consulted the detailed sociological studies on it, I feel I am on solid ground to assert that the vast majority of people with the name Hussein are good, decent, normal, everyday people.

Barack Hussein Obama is well above average and I hope he becomes president. I hope also that everyone can get over this silly aversion.

Also: Donna Brazile has something to say in a related vein. Well worth watching.

John McCain's middle name is Sidney. Reflect, would you rather be a Sidney or a Hussein? It's a wash in my book, but this is admittedly a rather ecumenical book.

Ian Hussein Hussein Hussein,

"Sidney" is a rotten middle name. No one with a good heart can have that middle name. It's not even possible.

As non american I have little to offer on the subject. but; general psychology of american citizens ought to have taken into consideration while considering the condidate for the so responsible post as of american presidency.from the debates of obama ;he has ever since tried to dispell this notion that he not only is non muslim but also is very hard to muslim world. He was first contesting presidential condidate who said that in the times of need he would even go for millitary misadventure to bombard holy cities of madina and makha.of late during grand debate the proposed president obama also intended to bombard pakistan under the garb of wipping off millitancy. this in my ordinary obervation is the suble perversion lurking in his mind that should any of his act even inadventenrtly could favour muslim community; he would be charged partial in communal lines.thus; obama after assuming the power shall render dreadful effects on muslim world as intended by him and also to save him from personel psychological crisis.i understand if american people as a general sentiment do not like any presidentil condidate to have even muslim symbolic name; same ought to have been respected { which is their right also}and another choice floated for their ease and connvience.thanks

Nazir, I'm not sure, but you seem to be saying Obama has made threats about Medina and Mecca. He has not.

You might be confusing Obama's statements about Pakistan with a statement made by former candidate Tom Tancredo, who did speak of Medina and Mecca. (see http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20104834/)

Obama hasn't spoken of "bombarding Pakistan," but of being willing to violate the Afghanistan-Pakistan border if doing so is the only way to pursue Osama Bin Laden or other Al Qaida militants. Pakistan's government can prevent this by making good-faith efforts to capture or kill Bin Laden and Al Qaida if/when they enter Pakistan's national territory. If, on the other hand, Pakistan's government is willing to allow its land to be used as a safe haven for Al Qaida, then Pakistan's government is siding with an enemy of the USA -- indeed a lawless enemy of all civilized people.

Mr.dale:i treat plitics seriousely not sering any purpose. this holds true so for third world countries are concerned where top politicians often are found being involved in corrupt activities etc.thus; personally; i have least bothered to know about politics and politicians. nevertheless; election to american presidency is considered rather global presidency.therefore; global interests are directly or indirectly involved in it. away from america people think that president of america ought to be well learned in all matters so intensely and double of it he/she should be patient like un-seen God.if you will just check up washington post editions the first ever address just after his nomination as presidential condidate obama said what was written already.the next reffernce that he shall opt to go for millitary adventure in pakistan is also on record.i am least interested in pak affairs as such have not to answer their concern.my simple reaction was if american people do not want any person with muslim name as their president; it was logical point to be considered with or without mounting any defense what or what does not hossien mean? thanks
