"So What?"


BUSH: One of the major theaters against al Qaeda turns out to have been Iraq. This is where al Qaeda said they were going to take their stand. This is where al Qaeda was hoping to take–

RADDATZ: But not until after the U.S. invaded.

BUSH: Yeah, that’s right. So what? The point is that al Qaeda said they’re going to take a stand. Well, first of all in the post-9/11 environment Saddam Hussein posed a threat. And then upon removal, al Qaeda decides to take a stand. [emphasis mine]

You know, watching him has really given me a new lack of appreciation for politics. Is it really that easy? I mean, if my job were that forgiving, I wouldn't even bother showing up, let alone even trying to do anything. But then, at my job, I don't have a right-hand-man who gets to shoot people in the face without consequence, so maybe I wouldn't have quite as much luck.

LN, we all need and deserve an amoral helpmeet who will, if the situation demands it, shoot someone in the face for us.
