Not All Stimulus Dollars Are Equal

The squabbling over the economic rescue bill continues, and sadly, so does the falsehood-riddled narration. Mark Zandi, the chief economist of Moody's Economy.com, has crunched the numbers and found that not all stimulus dollars are equal:

The GOP hates spending and loves tax cuts, but cutting food stamps in favor of tax cuts leaves 71 cents per dollar on the table. Cutting aid to state and local government strands 34 cents for every dollar. Cutting infrastructure in favor of tax cuts strands 57 cents for every dollar.
