My Running Coach

This is my running coach. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

It doesn't hear me complain about the scale of the ambitions built in to its weeks-long campaign to turn me into a better runner. It doesn't feel pain, and it is indifferent to my pain. Without this training plan, I am all but useless. I will learn it as a brother.

So be it, until my goals are reached and there is no failure. Or until I'm forced to take stock and try again.
