Too Much Shamelessness

This merits deep shame:

Looking away does not change it.

This, too, merits profound shame:

Barack Obama's administration has authorised the assassination of the radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, a rare move against an American citizen.
Rare though it may be, it's not rare enough. Evidently we are now to speak of the rule of law and due process in the past tense, as we might converse about our long summer days as children or swap tales of first kisses.
